SUMNER GROUP, INC.

E G. "Bud" Sumner started his career with A.B. Dick Company, Chicago in 1937. His dream of owning a distributorship came true when he purchased the St. Louis A.B. Dick Distributorship in 1956. A.B. Dick Products Company of St. Louis was primarily a mimeograph and supply company, then expanded into the offset market in the late 1950's. During the 1960's, the company entered the copier machine market with the introduction of electrostatic copiers. It was after the introduction of the Minolta electrobond copier in 1975 that Copying Concepts was formed as a division. Sumner Group took another step forward by creating its own leasing company in 1975. The Sumner brothers took over the reign of management in 1979 and carried on the tradition of excellence that Bud Sumner instilled in his company.
